The Starr Group at Stifel Nicolaus is a family-run team of financial advisors.   Michael, Daniel & Craig Starr help clients pursue their investment goals by utilizing a deep base of investment knowledge and research analysis.

The foundation of the Starr Group was established in 1965 when Lawrence Starr began his investment career at Gruntal & Co. eventually becoming director of options trading.  He was later joined by his sons, Michael and Daniel, and nephew, Craig, who focused on providing clients’ investment advice. Working together for more than 20 years, our group brings a depth of knowledge and experience to investing.

We are dedicated to delivering excellence to all our clients.  Our investment approach combines a technical and fundamental evaluation process to security selection. We utilize risk management strategies and proprietary indicators to assess market/equity valuations and trends.

We provide a full spectrum of investment products and wealth management services to help clients pursue a well-defined investment portfolio where risk and reward characteristics match desired financial goals.

About Stifel Nicolaus

Stifel Nicolaus, the largest subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp. (a holding company publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange), provides brokerage, trading, investment advice, and related financial services to individual and institutional investors.

Based in St. Louis, we are a vast network of professional Financial Advisors who provide knowledge and service to our clients, primarily individual investors.

After over 100 years in the financial services industry, through two World Wars, a major depression, various recessions and business cycles, we created a tradition of enhancing client knowledge and understanding of investment products and their application in meeting financial objectives.

Founded in 1890 in St. Louis, Missouri as a “general securities business,” Stifel Nicolaus has steadily increased not only in size, but in the breadth of knowledge, products, and services offered to our individual clients. Though large enough to offer a broad range of products and services and to compete successfully within our industry, the firm still remains a comfortable size where clients and associates are always treated as individuals.

We are a member of Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), the New York Stock Exchange and all principal exchanges, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
